Message | Why is this necessary? We will never vote to raise ANY tax by so much as a penny unless the finance minister is able to explain to us exactly why there is a budgetary need to do so. Since we are currently running a surplus, of 4 billion TPD, this is an absolutely ludicrous proposal. If anything, we should be cutting taxes. If senseless tax proposals continue to come before this parliament, the DCD will be forced to enter a vote of no confidence in Mr. Lebowitz. Message | I would formally like to apologize for this mistake. The Finance Ministry was attempting to lower Luxury Taxes while raising the budget for Science and Technology. We proposed this tax to accommodate the the Budget Increase and the Tax cut. We proposed the slight raise in Upper Class Taxes, but then decided to not change the budget. We wish all parties to not vote for this resolution. Samuel Lebowitz Finance Minister Republic of Telamon |
