MessageThis proposal does not necessarily do away with mayors, and we do indeed still prefer directly elected mayors cooperating with local councils, but this proposal gives local governments the autonomy to decide about this matter for themselves. Where they prefer a directly elected mayor, they can still have that, but where the system the Green Party prefers is desired, they can also have that, and other structures are also possible.
