Bill: Anarch Anakrousite Reform Bill - Energy (iii)
Details
Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2131
Description[?]:
In the original Anarch Anakrousite 'Energy' Bill, the status of the industry was such that price-controls had to be introduce to regulate the supply of energy to emergency services etc. It was explained in the preamble, and demanded by several other parties, that this would be a temporary situation: "The AAP would like to offer a (potentially short-lived) control plan, to counter these horrendous acts of opportunism.... whereby the production will be left in the hands of private companies, but a fair price 'range' will need to be constantly negotiated between those companies, and the energy executive of the government". In the interests of market forces, and business freedom - in the interests of Libertarian ideals - in the interest of pragmatic capitalism in ALL forms, the AAP seeks to remove undue regulation from the Energy sector. The AAP is retracting earlier legislation - this returns the legislation to the position BEFORE the original Anarch Anakrousite "Energy" Bill. |

Message | Could this lead to exploitative practices such as hording of scarce energy resources in order to extract excessively high prices? Are you sure that enough competition exists to ensure that consumers of the energy that we all need are notbeld dry? |

Message | Response to the Representative Party: The AAP would like to point out that we are merely suggesting RETURNING to the prior state... the competition already existed, the legislation was introduced due to the risk of 'gouging' public services, during a period of extreme shortage. The AAP believes THAT shortage has passed. Also, please allow the AAP to point out, private companies would not be 'subject to any SPECIAL regulation'... but they WOULD still be governed by NORMAL regulatory factors. |
