Bill: Anarch Anakrousite Reform Bill - Foreign Aid (iii)
Details
Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2131
Description[?]:
The AAP believes that Likatonia has a responsibility to help our less-fortunate neighbours. We are front and centre on the world stage for our progressive stances on many issues, and our fine, upstanding reputation regarding our own citizens. Let us expand our political capital overseas. So - as part of the AAP's current push to reform Likatonian finances, let us consider increasing our aid to the helpless in forign nations. Note: With thanks to previous comments from other Likatonian governmental representatives: It is of the UTMOST importance, that: we must "ensure that the increase is in the form of investments, providing continuing jobs and expansion of the country's economy, and not just grants which often end up in the pockets of corrupt officials". In the vernacular - the AAP hopes Likatonia can 'teach' people to fish - not just 'give' them fish. |

Message | Although we still prefer "tied" aid in return for trading rights, we're an internationalist party. Prosperity and stability abroad ultimately helps us too. |

Message | The AAP extends thanks to the Liberal Party for Equality, the Pragmatic Capitalist Party, and the Representative Party - for their support, or pledges of support. Perhaps the AAP can resubmit this legislation in the next electoral term, and maybe garner some more support. It is always a shame when philanthropic legislation gets axed. It is even more so when Likatonia can certainly use the positive publicity, and has the resources to support it. |

Random quote: "John Burroughs has stated that experimental study of animals in captivity is absolutely useless. Their character, their habits, their appetites undergo a complete transformation when torn from their soil in field and forest. With human nature caged in a narrow space, whipped daily into submission, how can we speak of its potentialities?" - Emma Goldman |
