| In light of there being NO legislated response, to NON-NBC weapons; In light of there being an aggressor just to the west of us, posturing with NBC weapons; In light of the fact that MOST parties seem to have little worry about our neighbours in Keymon being ready to First Strike at any point; In light of the fact that Mutually Assured Destruction ONLY works if other nations consider there to be some risk; In light of the fact that current legislation means we cannot fire WMD's, EVEN IF there are massed troops on our borders, UNLESS someone else 'shoots first'; In light of all those considerations: The AAP believes it time to (once again) table the resolution that we should expand our NBC potential to allow 'First Strike' potential. It is NOT the AAP intention that we SHOULD 'fire first'... but we consider it unacceptable that we MAY NOT fire first, regardless of reason. |
