Bill: Privatization of Museums

Details

Submitted by[?]: Roosevelt-Conservative Party (IA)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2808

Description[?]:

Old Law: The national government maintains a system of museums nationwide.

Proposal: The government does not fund or manage museums. This is left to the private sector

This is our proposal, it should help the economy out a little bit in the nation, as very few people still go to museums this day as well it seems foolish to continue paying for museums as this is money we could use else where. We however, do support the education and enriching of the minds of this great country.

MessageOOC: You know you actually have to add in an Article for it to do anything, right? You put your nuclear one to vote without any articles in it...

IC: Mr Speaker,

The LDP of Luthori supports all moves towards privatisation and will gladly support this Bill.

I yield.

IC:
Mr. Speaker,

You say no one goes to museums this day and time, and yet I see kids, adults, subjects and citizens alike each and every day going to the museums that celebrate the glory that our Empire was and is. The government must maintain its support of these priceless institutions.

On another note, if you are so worried about the Economy, then maybe this diet should not have voted on the new budget that has turned us from being one of the top economies in Terra (See forums and wiki) to one that is entering a depression due to the massive unemployment and jobless that have happened due to the new budget. So if you want to help the Economy, then maybe Mr. Minister of Finance needs to get off his lazy ass and fix the nation. For I for one am growing tired of the current government, which seems to be failing to perform its job, and rides on the tide citizens that are told one thing and yet have their parties do another.

I yield.

MessageOOC: Yeah, we should definitely use the unfinished (and completely broken) economic system to determine economies.

IC:
Mr. Speaker,

We would like to add to the objections of the Imperial Court. A sudden and abrupt cut in funding would undoubtedly cause many priceless works to be sold to private collectors with no interest of allowing the public to view them, meaning many articles of Luthori culture and heritage could be lost for decades- or as the case may be, forever.

I yield.

Mr. Speaker,

Making museums ran by private groups or individuals, rather than the government, is an excellent idea. Much more funding would be able to go into museums ran by individuals. They would be free to put in as much money as is possible of contributing. The government has a limited scope as to how much it can help out our museums, privatizing them would allow many museums to gain more funding and perhaps even provide a few more jobs and stimulate the economy.

I yield.
