Message | Apologies. I forgot that the luxury tax cannot be increased past 50%. |
Date | 19:56:11, August 26, 2009 CET | From | People's Party - Republican Democrats | To | Debating the 2808 Budget - Taxation |
Message | We will not vote for a proposal that imposes taxes on people with the lowest incomes. |
Date | 20:14:46, August 26, 2009 CET | From | National Action Party | To | Debating the 2808 Budget - Taxation |
Message | The NAP believes this budget must be shifted a little, the ridiculously high tax on the upper brackets will do nothing but scare off investment capitalists whom, while evil, are at this point a necessary evil. However since most corporations are tools of our state, the tax burden can be shifted if we raise the taxation of them. |
Date | 23:51:23, August 26, 2009 CET | From | People's Party - Republican Democrats | To | Debating the 2808 Budget - Taxation |
Message | We don't have any problems with high taxes in the upper income brackets, but this proposal introduces taxation for incomes between 1000 and 2500 ACR, which we cannot and will not support. |
Date | 00:45:25, August 27, 2009 CET | From | National Action Party | To | Debating the 2808 Budget - Taxation |
Message | You do realize that a 85% tax on someone with an income of 10,000 leaves them with 1500? Someone making 3,000 after taxes actually has more than someone who makes 10,000. Realistically the rich wont pay the taxes, instead just leave. There will be an utter lack of available capital...This proposal will spell the death of the Aldegarian economy. |
Date | 05:23:01, August 27, 2009 CET | From | Green Party of Aldegar | To | Debating the 2808 Budget - Taxation |
Message | That is not how progressive taxation work, NAP. A person earning 10000 would not have 8500 deducted from here income, but 70 for the first thousand, 150 for the second thousand, 350 for the third thousand, and so on. |

Message | OOC: I really wasn't aware of that lol Also, the NAP can't agree with the deficit. |
Date | 15:57:26, August 27, 2009 CET | From | Green Party of Aldegar | To | Debating the 2808 Budget - Taxation |
Message | That is why we have to pass this taxation proposal, as we have already passed the increases in spending. |
Date | 16:14:59, August 27, 2009 CET | From | People's Party - Republican Democrats | To | Debating the 2808 Budget - Taxation |
Message | We have fewer problems with a budget deficit than with introducing taxes for low incomes. |
Date | 17:50:25, August 27, 2009 CET | From | Green Party of Aldegar | To | Debating the 2808 Budget - Taxation |
Message | We tax, and we provide. And a deficit of more than 30% of the total revenue is a problem. |
Date | 18:03:57, August 27, 2009 CET | From | National Action Party | To | Debating the 2808 Budget - Taxation |
Message | Everyone should be taxed, to suggest that the lowest bracket should play NO taxes is only giving them a free lunch. |
Date | 18:41:56, August 27, 2009 CET | From | People's Party - Republican Democrats | To | Debating the 2808 Budget - Taxation |
Message | Some people could well do with a free lunch, so there's nothing wrong with that. A deficit of 30% of the whole budget is not desirable, but not that much of a problem as conservative economic wisdom wishes us to believe. The increased investments will generate more tax income in the mid-term future. |
Date | 18:48:09, August 27, 2009 CET | From | National Action Party | To | Debating the 2808 Budget - Taxation |
Message | The Nation is throwing money at the lowest income people, yet they pay nothing back in return? |
Date | 19:49:45, August 27, 2009 CET | From | People's Party - Republican Democrats | To | Debating the 2808 Budget - Taxation |
Message | Society is showing solidarity with those who have little and they pay society back in other forms than taxes. |
Date | 03:19:30, August 28, 2009 CET | From | National Action Party | To | Debating the 2808 Budget - Taxation |
Message | Society is showing solidarity with them by exempting them from paying taxes? |
