I think Orange should be the Duchy to carry the extra seat, as it is here that Fort William is Located

MessageMr. Speaker,

No Duchy is more important than the other, I find it frivolous the way you present this argument, as if they will be offended by us presenting an extra seat to the Duchy where our great capital rests. The seat movement is proposed so that standstills within the government will be eliminated, helping us make decisions easier. Orange is the proposed Duchy because of Fort William being located here, the capital, the center of the country. So if anywhere an extra seat should go, its obvious that it should go here.

I yield.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I am not saying they are offended, I am just stating how it looks. Yes it has the capital, but Yodukan is the largest of the homeland duchys, so who is to say it should not get the seat.

I yield.

MessageMr. Speaker,

True Yodukan is the largest, but when it comes down to it, this is a monarchy led by a King. The jewel of the empire is Fort William, located in Orange, it is the capital city, and extremely important. So shouldn't the land of the monarch have the deciding vote in many cases?

I yield.

MessageMr. Speaker,

So then is it the Emperor that is voting? I am not saying I disagree with what you are trying to do, but there are questions that must be answered before this bill was brought to vote. I suggest it is reproposed and allow for these questions to be better talked about so that the people will fully understand how this "extra" vote is valid.

I yield.

MessageMr. Speaker,

In a sense yes, the Emperor would be voting, because Orange has long been synonymous with the Emperor. However the Emperor himself is not given this vote. The one seat should go to Orange simply because Orange is where the Capital is located. When it comes down to it, the capital (being in Orange) is what other nations of the world identify the most with.

I yield.

MessageMr. Speaker,

While that is true, the Imperial Constitution says " The emperor shall be represented by his Imperial Court, and they are given voteing power just like any political party." So the Emperor techincally already votes. So once again we come to the issue being why it deserves this extra vote. While I personally agree with you, we must view this from the other side and see why some would see this as unfair?

We could say that the 1st vote is to the HoG. Which could solve the issue. However, since that is not stated in this bill it would be impossible to enforce, which is why I shall abstain.

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI).
