Message | We wholeheartedly support this bill. The fact that a citizen of Rutania, in times of economic downturn and unemployment, can be left to poverty is deeply shameful. |

Message | Another short-term resolution... If we are comprehending correct, the amount of money provided by the government is not proposed to be changed, only the temporal aspect is changed. We believe that while the status quo support the poor individuals until they find a job, the second one encourages them not to look for jobs because they are financed by the state for their entire life. Is this a progress towards the current legislation? |

Message | But surely is periods of recession, economic hardship and long term unemployment, we will have extremely bad poverty and homeless problem? |
Date | 19:01:09, September 10, 2009 CET | From | United Democrats | To | Debating the Minimum Income Act |
Message | Does the phrase "a very basic subsistence income" sound like it is encouraging anyone to not get employment and live off of state funding? This basic income will serve only to keep these families in basic accommodation and with adequate food to provide for their family. If we had some sort of national child benefit support for our people, maybe we could be on the way to supporting all families living below the bread-line. |

Message | We have decided to support this proposal, for now. |
Date | 11:18:26, September 11, 2009 CET | From | Rutanian Heritage Party | To | Debating the Minimum Income Act |
Message | We see no reason for the period of government income support to become indefinite - this will allow 'freeloaders' to exploit the system, and will take away any incentive for the unemployed to find work. |

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections. |
