Bill: The Council of Kensington
Details
Submitted by[?]: Verititas Splendor Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2817
Description[?]:
A separation of Church and State is important in maintaining viable and thriving religion. Without the intertwining of Church and State, political factors are not as important as theological factors. Mind you, unless Chippie here, of the DP would want there to be an emperor cult, I would recommend the support of this bill. |

Message | We see no reason to abolished 200 years of culture and tradition and as we have already stated before, we will accept the abolishment of mandatory membership, any other change is unacceptable to us. |

Message | This "tradition" is 200 years old, for the other numerous years of our nation, there have been more years without a national religion than without. I hardly call it tradition. But it is still 200 years old. The problem is that just because this idea is old, does not mean that it is correct. But if your mind fails to comprehend such a simple statement, the idea of not having an official state religion is a much longer tradition. We would also like to point out the harm that this causes to the religion, as well as the lack of need of religion. If the mandatory religion is an Emperor Cult, then what a weak god he must be, for as much as an emperor may delude himself and his people, he is no more able to show all-encompassing love or justice any more than a mere stone worker. Should the religion be something of Christianity or Islam (for we know that the DP would not allow the lesser Semitic religion be the official religion), these religions are focused on a divine kingship, not a physical one, and as I pointed out previously, this king is not divine. (If you fail to agree again, take note that both Christianity and Islam believe that public revelation (like the election of David, new Scripture, etc (with exception to the Last Things) have ceased (Islam with the ascension of Mohammed to Heaven in his flaming chariot, and Christianity with the death of the apostle John). Any change may be unnacceptable to you, for this is because your heart has hardened, and to make up for it, your brain has softened in return. I yield back the balance of my time. |
