MessageThis legislation negates the entire reason for having a private energy service system - competitive pricing and competitive standards. The LDP may think that regulating prices will benefit consumers, but in the end it is both consumers and producers who will suffer from such a scheme - everybody loses.

MessageEnergy will remain in the private sector but with a government oversight to ensure that the price the consumer is getting is fair. Especially with regards to the massive profits obtained by the Energy companies.

MessageThe question the OP wishes to pose is, will this 'fair' price impede the companies' ability to provide top-quality service, and will it hamper their ability to acquire newer, more efficient technologies?

MessageNo we don't believe it will, if the prices do come down then their profits will be smaller, we don't believe they should cut any spending in research and development or in providing a first class service.
