Message | On this principle the government could regulate what kind of soap or flour the citizens are buying. This piece of legislation would be a dangerous precedent. |

Message | The precedent already exists. Whether it be buying tobacco, alcohol, watching certificated movies, a responsible society should protect minors from inappropriate material. |
Date | 22:22:24, September 15, 2009 CET | From | Rutanian Restoration Party | To | Debating the Video Games Age Restriction |
Message | This should be an issue for parents, not the government. Parents see the rating, they can choose to not buy the game or their children or not. And if children are old enough to buy these games on their own, then they are old enough to understand the content of the games do not reflect true life. And to the LDP, a truly responsible society would deal with these issues on a personal level, and parents would be responsible in dealing with what they expose their children to. The government gives people the freedoms to do what they wish, but they must be good stewards of what is given them. The government only steps in when the rights of one impede the rights of another. |

Message | We agree with the sentiment of this legislation, but we would prefer that this issue was devolved to local governments. This is by no means a federal issue. |
