Bill: Contraceptives Bill of 2819
Details

Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2822
Description[?]:
The REP proposes free contraceptives to be distributed in pharmacies and public toilettes. In our point of view, this measure would halt the spreading of sexually transmitted diseases, furthermore can prevent unwanted births in the case of students or extremely poor people. This measure could be labelled as an anti-familiarist bill, but this bill protects on the same scale the families as the young or extremely poor individuals. For a well-established family there is a need for education, established financial situation etc. Therefore this bill suggest a two-fold measure for the improvement of the Commonwealth's social fabric. Message | We must unfortunately differ with our good allies on this legislation - government-sponsored contraceptives are not only a waste of tax-payers' money, but an ineffectual one, also. We presume the intention of this measure is to try and prevent unsafe practices and the transmission of diseases, when, in fact, all it will achieve is the promotion and encouragement of premiscuous sex and sex between minors, at the expense of the public purse. This is something the federal government should have no involvement in. |
