Bill: Use of Pharmaceutical Drugs Reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: United Democrats
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2826
Description[?]:
We believe that local government control over the usage of drugs is not sufficient. The current situation encourages the illegal transportation of drugs over state borders from a state that allows the use of recreational drugs into a state that forbids it. We need a national law to avoid trafficking of this nature. This is one of many of our current laws that needs more consistency to avoid confusion and loop-holes. We have also included an article arguing for drug subsidies for low-income households. We believe that every family deserves the right to medicine. Preventative medicine can be a live-saver for low-income families and would save money on lengthy treatment in the future. This should not be seen as a welfare initiative but as a caring government looking after its working class people. |

Old value:: The government does not subsidise the cost of pharmaceutical drugs at all.
Current: The government pays partially for all citizens' pharmaceutical drugs, and pays entirely for those of low income citizens.

Message | We cannot support this bill as a whole. Local government are fully capable of handling these issues. If the DPR would withdraw Articles 1 and 3 then we could support the somewhat leftist measure of Article 2. |
