Bill: Nuclear Warfare Act 2131
Details
Submitted by[?]: Roman Imperialist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2132
Description[?]:
In the interests of national security, a nation should be allowed the option of using nuclear weapons if used upon them first. Without nuclear weapons of our own, a rival nation is free to use nuclear weapons on us first without fear of reprisal. This needs to be fixed, so that a rival nation will think twice before using nuclear weapons. All nuclear storehouses and silos will be guarded by Military Police officers and only accessible by high ranking military officials and those given special clearance from the federal government. |

Message | Agreed. The number of nations on this world developing nuclear weapons is alarming. Unless all disarm, all must have them if only for a deterrant. I would, however like to see strict provisions for the security of these weapons. |

Message | i dontknow this can be dangerous |
Date | 03:46:33, October 26, 2005 CET | From | Roman Imperialist Party | To | Debating the Nuclear Warfare Act 2131 |
Message | I believe it is more dangerous for us to not have nuclear arms. With all the other nations around us, it becomes possible for us to be threatened with nuclear weapons and with no way to deter them. Only nuclear weapons of our own can deter those other nations. |
Date | 05:05:35, October 26, 2005 CET | From | People's Democratic Party | To | Debating the Nuclear Warfare Act 2131 |
Message | We supported this measure before and we will support it now. We need to be able to deter any foreign threats, specially since we don't exactly have very cozy ties with our nearest neighbours. |
Date | 07:13:00, October 26, 2005 CET | From | Roman Imperialist Party | To | Debating the Nuclear Warfare Act 2131 |
Message | The statement: "All nuclear storehouses and silos will be guarded by Military Police officers and only accessible by those given special clearance from the government and high ranking military officials." has been changed to "special clearance from the federal government...." |
Date | 07:16:26, October 26, 2005 CET | From | Roman Imperialist Party | To | Debating the Nuclear Warfare Act 2131 |
Message | Reworded the final sentence to make it a little more clear: "only accessible by high ranking military officials and those given special clearance by the federal government." |
Date | 11:49:22, October 26, 2005 CET | From | Labor Party | To | Debating the Nuclear Warfare Act 2131 |
Message | We believe its best our Nation stay Nuclear Free and rather join a Internation Treaty with other Nations with same ideals. Without this the whole World would become unsafe to all Nations, and in the end self destructive to only ourselves. |
Date | 18:24:13, October 26, 2005 CET | From | Roman Imperialist Party | To | Debating the Nuclear Warfare Act 2131 |
Message | The world is already unsafe. So long as we refuse to stockpile nuclear arms, we remain a vulnerable target and there is no deterrant to using nuclear arms against us. |

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context. |
Random quote: "No one today can afford to be innocent, or indulge himself in ignorance of contemporary governments, politics and social orders. The national polities of the modern world maintain their existence by deliberately fostered craving and fear: monstrous protection rackets. The 'free world' has become economically dependent on a fantastic system of stimulation of greed which cannot be fulfilled, sexual desire which cannot be satiated and hatred which has no outlet except against oneself, the persons one is supposed to love, or the revolutionary aspirations of pitiful, poverty-stricken marginal societies like Cuba or Vietnam. The conditions of the Cold War have turned all modern societies - communist included - into vicious distorters of man's true potential." - Gary Snyder |
