Description[?]:
Presently, the government allows any couple to have children. Some people are not fit to raise a child. The Totalitarian Party proposes a test be created for prospective parents. If they fail, the child will be placed for adoption. |

Message | We disagree. I don't think government knows what it takes to raise children, and I don't think that bad parents would always fail a test. Maybe if offering courses on parenting were an option, but this breaches way too far into the rights and privacy of the individual. |
Date | 15:50:06, October 26, 2005 CET | From | Totalitarian Party | To | Debating the Responsible Parenting Act |
Message | Better to stop some of these of people from becoming parents, than to allow them all to raise children. The Totalitarian Party feels citizens do not have the right to raise their children wrong. Therefore, a test to ensure they will make fit parents is not violating any person's rights. However, allowing all people to have children is violating the children's rights. |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
