Message | Let's not be silly. We live in a capitalist society where cutting costs is business doctrine in all circumstances. Any slack in the pollution law would assure that all industries would simply ignore the guidelines due to the lack of reprocussions. Pass this bill and the country will suffer later. |
Date | 00:51:23, April 29, 2005 CET | From | Dorvish Popular Front | To | Debating the Business Protection Act |
Message | I'm sure the CEO's of companies are educated enough to know about environmental problems and therefore can do what their business can to help with it. Some businesses simply can't follow these restrictions for fear of going bust and so it would be crazy to attempt to force them to. |

Message | Furthermore, as the popular opinion in Dorvik reflects, much of this environmental mumbo-jumbo is unproven and simply scientific theories. Therefore, to bankrupt the nation over some unproven speculation would be crazy! |

Message | Smog being bad for people is environmental mumbo-jumbo? Right. Companies tend not to follow environmental procedures not because they're unproven but because they're unprofitable. I know this sounds a little strange coming from the Libertarian Party, but if you're not free to walk the streets without an oxygen tank what are you free to do? |
