Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2836
Description[?]:
Rutania's current border security policies are weak, potentially allowing criminals and other undesireable persons who pose a threat to Rutanian citizens to enter the country without detection. There is no excuse for this. The Rutanian Heritage Party propose stricter and more thorough border security measures to ensure the safety and security of the Rutanian people. |

Message | Hmm. We appreciate the intentions of this legislation, but we cannot decide whether or not to support this bill. |
Date | 09:24:16, October 20, 2009 CET | From | United Democrats | To | Debating the Border Security Act |
Message | We concur with the Orange Party, we are unsure. |
Date | 17:23:40, October 20, 2009 CET | From | People's Party of Rutania | To | Debating the Border Security Act |
Message | We at the PPR don't see the current need to change this legislation. Were the national security climate to change in the future, then the PPR would agree to review this, but at this point in time we cannot support this. |
Date | 18:19:50, October 20, 2009 CET | From | Rutanian Restoration Party | To | Debating the Border Security Act |
Message | The PPR brings up the main point that keeps us from supporting this measure, that there are no credible security threats outside of those already here (Black Legion). |
Date | 18:44:25, October 20, 2009 CET | From | Liberal Democratic Party | To | Debating the Border Security Act |
Message | We brought in the current law so do not feel there is a need to increase our security at the borders. The security threats we have exist within our borders, as the Orange Party pointed out. We hope there is no truth in the rumour of the links between the Black Legion and the Heritage Party. We are further concerned by the threats our members have received from the REP's para-military group. |
Date | 00:38:20, October 21, 2009 CET | From | Rutanian Heritage Party | To | Debating the Border Security Act |
Message | The fact that there are no current security threats to Rutania abroad is virtually irrelevant - border security is designed to keep not only terrorists and individuals who pose security threats from setting foot on Rutanian soil, but undesireables and criminals also, including drug-traffickers, sex-offenders, murderers, and any other convicted felons. The current legislation is giving criminals free reign to enter Rutania, putting citizens at great risk. |
Date | 09:39:52, October 21, 2009 CET | From | Rutanian Elitist Party | To | Debating the Border Security Act |
Message | What kind of threats is the LDP speaking about. The EL has promised to defend even in a greater measure the leftist manifestations because they are obvious targets of the Black Legion. OOC: And if you thought about my characters threatening yours... I did not to such a thing and according to the RP (role-play) rules you cannot make my characters do something I haven`t given my consent to. |
Date | 21:48:37, October 21, 2009 CET | From | Liberal Democratic Party | To | Debating the Border Security Act |
Message | Stepan Pehotny, Commander of the 2nd Combat Group of the Elitist Legion protested in Spaak in front of the local LDP headquarters. He declared: "It is a pity that democracy does not allow to beat these stupid bastards. They are harming our freedom and the freedom of our children. We have to react. We have to show that we care." |
Date | 21:52:36, October 21, 2009 CET | From | Liberal Democratic Party | To | Debating the Border Security Act |
Message | Why does a party in an open democracy need a paramilitary army? The REP use it like the Nazi's used the SS. A military wing of the political party to "persuade" their political opponents. |
