MessageAs Rutania is a rather secular nation we feel that we may be able to support this bill, however we think Article 1 may be a bit too extreme. Would the DPR consider allowing evangelism? We would fully support this bill in that event.

MessageEvangelism is still religious, we don't believe religions should be able to advertise lies.

MessageRegarding Article 1:

Surely religion should be a conscious choice with no commercial influence? Religion should not recruit through advertising, any religion that does this is a failing religion only trying to compete with the mainstream religions. You either believe or you don't believe, advertising is simply unethical when coupled with religion.
Do we want our ministers and priests be turn into some sort of marketing gurus trying to find quicker and snappier catchphrases to entice the young and ill-informed into their religion?
The DPR also feel that religious advertising brings a sense of realness to the things that they preach, these things are not true and never have been. Let's keep religion out of the living rooms of the people that don't believe and don't want to be preached to shall we.

MessageWhy are you specifically asking for evangelism to be allowed? I'm not sure what the concern is with religions advertising. I remain open-mided on this article though. I'd like to know why the honourable senator believes religion coupled with advertising is "unethical". And I should imagine religions the world over would embrace ministers who could entice the young into their faith. I believe we should trust the people to make up their own minds on these matters.

MessageHow can people be "enticed" and still make up their own minds?

Entice: provoke someone to do something through (often false or exaggerated) promises or persuasion.

This sums up my argument fully.

MessageYour definition came from a thesauras which was connecting the word 'entice' with other words. The definition is: to attract or draw towards oneself by exciting hope or desire; tempt; allure. The word entice has no negative connotations. If that sums up your argument fully, then there is not enough in your argument to encourage us to change our position.

MessageI think you forgot the last bit of that definition, allow me to help.

Entice: to attract or draw towards oneself by exciting hope or desire; tempt; allure; as, the bait enticed the fish.

The bait enticed the fish.

Does this sound good to you?

MessageHa ha that was an example of when the word can be used. You could also say "the bait attracted the fish". Would you have the same negative connotations for the word "attracted"? Again, poetic license.....

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols.
