Old value:: An education plan for prisoners is provided to improve rehabilitation.
Current: An education plan for prisoners is provided to improve rehabilitation.
Proposed: Prisoners are not given any form of education.

Message | Education in prisons supports rehabilitation. Rehabilitated prisoners are less likely to re-offend. Therefore the prison education plan is a contribution to the reduction of crime rates. Redcued crime means less need for prisons, which a re very expensive. So in addition to the positive good of lower crime, education in prisons is a net savings to the taxpayer. |
