Message | Many organizations demand proof of where someone lives, their age and their name. Government issues ID cards are a quick way to prove that to anyone. This is an entirely voluntary process, simply put - someone can get an ID or not, it is up to them. |

Message | There are tangible benefits to having IDs in Malivia, the first one being that it becomes very easy for shopkeepers to uphold the law that we all supported which was enacted to stop children from smoking. It is difficult to distinguish a tall, growing 15 year old from an 18 year sometimes, ID cards will help us support our own laws. Having said that, no one has to have an ID card, it is a voluntary process that is there to increase efficiency. We welcome evidence that show any problems with voluntary ID cards. |

Message | We see little harm in this, though perhaps it could be left to private initiative, with govt merely endorsing the validity of such schemes? |

Message | RC, that is a reasonable point. The FRP sees no problem with that argument. The FRP moves that if this bill passes it acts to endorse private creation of ID cards. This bill is just to create guidelines that allow IDs to be endorsed by the government. Does this satisfy? |

Message | This bill was voted down with a terrible majority when proposed by the USP, is this just another attempt from the FRP fo steal votes from the genuine left party of Malivia? We will however vote in favor for this bill. |

Message | And how long before voluntary become mandatory, either by law or just because you can't get anything done without it. We are most definately against and can see no benefit and a lot of cost. |

Message | OOC: it's just like the cards that have been available in the UK for ages - very useful if you don't drive and completely voluntary. I see no problem with this. |

Message | Given the FRP modifications, we support. |
