Details

Submitted by[?]: Eudaimonic Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2853

Description[?]:

The Eudaimonic Party has been reviewing the current legislature and wishes to address the following:

The method used to determine the number of seats each region receives in the national legislature, is unfairly characterised by an advantage to larger regions within the union. We believe that all states within Aloria be given equal say, therefore we propose that:

"A proportional algorithm that gives a very small advantage to larger regions" is repealed, in favour of:

Equal representation, regardless of region population.

MessageI absolutely diagree. We live in a democracy where every civilian has an equal say, so a State with more inhabitants must have more seats in the Parliament

MessageHowver, in a true democracy there shouldn't be tyranny by majority. Hence equal representation per region.

MessageIf you want things to work.... put actual proposals in it. This bill isn't work! So funny to vote for, but not effective...
And why is everything which have a majority in something always called dictatorial or tyrannical??? States with more inhabitants have right to more seats. They have more inhabitants, so they need more representives. If every state has an equal representation, now THAT's undemocratic. Because that way a state with 10 inhabitants have the same amount of seats as a state with 400 billion inhabitants! That's not democratic!

MessageTo the Eudaimonic Party: If a State with more civilians receives more seets, that's democracy, because then every civilian would get an equal share in politics. If every State has an equal number of seets, the people who live in a State with fewer inhabitants, would have more influence. The LCD are completely against this ademocratic idea.

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map.
