MessageQuite right Redneck - this lot are stark bonkers. We're being run by the insane asylum now.

Prisoners have the right to be rehabilitated using hard labour, long sentences, and capital punishment.

That'll fix 'em.

MessageDUP: We pay politicians.

RnP: Svcam, do you mean scum? We are not paying them for their crimes, we are paying them a small wage (less than non-convicts) for any labour they do in prison. In order to make them productive functioning members of society, we have to teach them how to hold a steady job with a regular wage/salary, so that they don't fall back into crime.

UCP: Now you know how we felt when you were in power. Hard labour, long sentences and capital punishment will not rehabilitate convicts, it will just drive them further away from society, and make it easier for them to justify their crimes, both past and future.

Being away from friends, family and loved ones, as well as being removed from the outside world is punishment and thus justice, anything else is just vengeance and revenge. Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.

MessageYeah, I always seem to have an error or to in my statements.

However, we pay to feed, house and clothe them. To suggest we do that then pay them is insane. Any money their labor produces should go directly to the state to pay for them. No law abiding citizen gets a free ride in life, and neither should this scum.

Anyone who supports this should resign from the offices they hold. They do the citizens a huge disservice.

MessageWe pay them so they have money so in the case of people stealing because they can't afford things they want and need they won't steal again, the other ones who are well off probably won't bother working for such a small wage.

MessageWhy should we even allow them "things" to "afford" in prison? It's not a vacation for them. It's a punishment.

Random fact: In cases where players have failed to clearly and accurately reference their nation's RP laws in the "Bills under debate" section, Moderation will rule them invalid if a challenge is made to their validity.

Random quote: "Capitalism and communism stand at opposite poles. Their essential difference is this: the communist, seeing the rich man and his fine home, says: 'No man should have so much.' The capitalist, seeing the same thing, says: 'All men should have as much.'" - Phelps Adams
