Bill: State Owned Industries
Details
Submitted by[?]: Capitalizt Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2133
Description[?]:
State owned industries provide unfair competition with other industries at the expense of the taxpayers. State owned industries often utilize public money for suspect purposes. State owned industries should not exist as the State should act as a 'referee' over the national economical system and nothing else. State owned industries do not provide a service that is not provided by someone else with a cheaper quality. We ask to allow only private industries and let the competition flourish and the taxes to be spent on something more useful. |

Message | Ok, let's explain this again. State owned industries are perfectly viable within the economy, though there uses should be limited. The operation of services to the public, as well as the maintenance of the State infrastructure should be carried out by publically owned companies in order to guarantee service requirements and to operate those essential services that the private sector would not operate (i.e. unprofitable rail routes). To leave all services and business decisions to the private sector is not only foolhardy but can have serious repercussions within the State infrastructure should there be a public emergency. We would also point out that tax payer money is not necessarily required for the operation of State companies. Why is it impossible for you to not believe that the State could not operate a profitable company? "State owned industries often utilize public money for suspect purposes." - As do Private industries. As this has no basis in fact within this Country we feel that this falacious argument should not be included, especially not within the constructs of a bill. "State owned industries do not provide a service that is not provided by someone else with a cheaper quality." - A cheaper quality, not as good a quality, but cheaper... This too is incorrect. Many State owned operations operate at a higher quality of service than their private counterparts purely because they are not so concerned about cutting costs. This bill is foolish, counterproductive and will no doubt be harmful to our economy. |

Message | I live in a country where all big state owned industries are either - Failing - Going to bankruptcy and getting State public money - Using our money for other purposes - Robbing public money to provide a standard service and keep the rest for themselves A private company messes with its own money. When it is in danger of bad economic management it does regulate its spendings, or else it fails. Public companies wait for the State magic wand. It is impossible for me to believe a thing like that not because the State is something evil - Private companies would do it too if they had the chance - but because they provide an unfair competition. They do not necessarily need to make profit - there's the taxpayers money for that - they just need to make a decent service and there's no incentive on 'improving'. |
