Message | When the word "Socialism" is pulled out as a smear word, it only shows infantile pretensions from change-fearing conservatives. When you consider it an insult, you obviously ignore its political implications for democracy. If being "socialist" means caring for the majority of the people and fighting for equity and equality (in this case, by insisting on the government ownership of key power sectors), then yes, Alliance pour la Démocratie is socialist. It is amusing how not long ago, "liberal" replaced "socialist" as the pejorative choice for the conservative Right... Laura C. Kantō - Ministry of Internal Affairs (Alliance pour la Démocratie) |

Message | While we concur with our AD allies that socialism means fighting for equity and equality, socialism does not necessarily come from state intervention. Private reform, allowing the people to own a stake in their own livelihood, can allieviate poverty. W |

Message | While we concur with our AD allies that socialism means fighting for equity and equality, socialism does not necessarily come from state intervention. Private reform, allowing the people to own a stake in their own livelihood, can allieviate poverty. We must ensure a safety-net is provided by society for those who stumble, while also encouraging aspiration and growth. Charles Vascoin de Villiers et Orléans-Vasser Finance Minister Party Chairman |
