Description[?]:

Friends of Telamon, citizens of the Republic, Members of Parliament, I unfortunately come before you today under the bleakest of circumstances. As many of you have already read in the paper, our nation was shocked today by a tragic shooting which took Shoreline High School by surprise. Twenty-one lives later, with three more hanging in the balance, we are reeling from the pain of this grim day. We send our condolences to the families in their time of mourning, and we stand by them as a nation in their time of need. However, our condolences are not enough. Shoreline High was not only taken by surprise today, it was caught unprepared. Today we saw just how vulnerable our centers of learning, which are supposed to be save havens for our blooming young adults, can be. If we are serious in offering our condolences to the twenty-one families who have paid a price more costly than words can describe, we must do so by insuring that no family should ever have to pay that price again. We should do so by insuring that our young adults can go to school every morning and worry about getting their education, rather than worrying about getting shot at. We mourn today as a nation, but we must also take prompt action so we need not mourn again as a nation tomorrow. For this reason, The Ministry of Justice is requesting an additional 5 billion Telamon Pounds be added to the annual Justice budget to be used for equipping our schools with the latest surveillance technology, metal detecting technology, and provide highly trained security guards equipped with the latest in non-lethal weapons who could serve as first responders in the event that any such crisis should arise again in any of our nation's learning centers. Once our request has the approval of Finance Minister Harold Barry, we will bring our request before Parliament for final approval. We pray that the Finance Ministry and Parliament are as prepared to take immediate action as is the rest of the country.
