MessageIt is not an anti-democratic move. It ends our mandate on local governments to have things done our way. That's anti-democratic. Just because we allow local governments to select their own method of appointment/election, it doesn't mean direct elections will cease to exist. That wold be a very silly assumption to make. However, we only support Articles 3 and 10. We oppose the others. Therefore, we will vote against this bill.

MessageEnding a democratic mandate and allowing local governments to appoint mayors in whatever manner they see fit including undemocraticly is a seriosu reduction of democracy. Only the LP would argue against the blatantly obvious.

MessageAnd why are you assuming that they will end a direct election. That's presumptious. But the URP is known to assume things in many occassions.

Random fact: Moderation reserves the discretion to declare RP laws invalid if the players supporting them are doing so in an excessively confrontational way.

Random quote: "I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church." - Thomas Paine
