MessageThe URP believes that some local governments may end direct elections because that's what the new law does. Is it more logical to assume that one or more local governments will abuse this law or that every local polity will reject the opportunity to abuse power? I must point out the actions of politicians in the Liberal Party whose lust for absolute power has made a mockery of this House and already devalued democracy in our Union. Forgive me if I have little faith that Liberal politicians in the Republics will not take this opportunity to sieze absolute power as the majority has done in this chamber. Prime Minister, your decision to ram through this law as you have so many others is yet another error that needs to be overturned for the protection of our citizens and to restore a free, just, and prosperous society.
