Message | "This is still a democracy correct?" - Correct. The "municipal councils" are democratically elected bodies and there is no need to add another layer of bureaucracy into the equation. |

Message | Hm. Old System: Citizens - Municipal Councils - Mayor, am I right?. New System: Citizens - Mayor Why does it add another layer of bureaucracy? |

Message | No. Old system: Citizens - Municipal Council New system: Citizens - Mayor attempting to control Municiple Council The current system does not have a Mayor, merely a system of Councillors. The inclusion of a Mayor merely adds an extra level of bureaucracy as the Mayor now attempts to control the already directly elected Council. |

Message | ^^ Correct ^^ At present the municipal council has all the powers that the proposed mayor has; they "exercise mayoral powers". Splitting that power and adding extra elections increases bureaucracy, decreases efficiency and increase costs. |
