Bill: Cabinet Amendment 2869
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal Democratic Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2872
Description[?]:
The current cabinet has a number of positions allocated to parties who are no longer active. It has been this way for a long time now despite out attempts at encouraging the Head of State to address the situation. We need to make this amendment to cabinet proposals to ensure that when we have an inactive Head of State, Rutania does not come to a standstill. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The constitutional right and responsibility to propose a cabinet to the legislature.
Old value:: Only the Head of State can propose a cabinet coalition.
Current: Each party can propose a cabinet coalition.
Proposed: Only the largest party can propose a cabinet.

Message | We shall vote yes on this in order to achieve a workable cabinet for the near future. We would expect this to be changed back to the current form shortly after a new cabinet is established. We fear this change would lead to a huge number of cabinet proposals from many different parties, this cannot happen. |

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
