Message | The People's Equality Party does not support this bill, we feel identity cards are costly, infringe on civil liberties and are ineffective. What would happen if a person wasn't carrying their ID card, would they be arrested? If so that is terrible but if not the cards are useless, basically ID cards are a bad idea. |

Message | Very well put PEP. |
Date | 15:51:56, October 30, 2005 CET | From | Libertarian Capitalist Party | To | Debating the Identity cards! |
Message | The Libertarian Capitalist Party agrees whole-heartedly with the People's Equality Party on this issue. Civil rights are paramount in any nation, and ID cards infringe upon these rights without any regard for cost, efficacy, or purpose. |

Message | The Freedom Party will never vote against the rights of the people! |

Message | But you always seem to let local government get away with crushing people's rights. |
Date | 22:10:28, October 30, 2005 CET | From | Capitalism Now! Party | To | Debating the Identity cards! |
Message | "What would happen if a person wasn't carrying their ID card, would they be arrested?" If they weren't carrying their card they'd be taken away for questioning, then they'd run a background check on the person and see what's going on. This is a great way to keep track of people and what they're up to. |
Date | 23:43:46, October 30, 2005 CET | From | Freedom Party | To | Debating the Identity cards! |
Message | Yes, there's nothing like a good raping of civil liberties now and then. |
Date | 00:25:07, October 31, 2005 CET | From | Libertarian Capitalist Party | To | Debating the Identity cards! |
Message | Precisely. Never mind 'innocent until proven guilty', we'll take up a new mantra: 'you're guilty of a to-be-determined charge until you can prove you're innocent'. |
Date | 12:30:47, October 31, 2005 CET | From | People's Equality Party | To | Debating the Identity cards! |
Message | I am glad to see other parties in this country have seen sense about this issue, identity cards would be the first step to a very bad place. |
