Bill: Call for Early Elections and Formal Vote of No Confidence in the Governor-General of October 2873
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kaiserliche Hulsterreichische Partei
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.
Voting deadline: October 2874
Description[?]:
I, Bartholomäus von Strauss, Staatsminister of His Imperial Majesty, Klaus Gustav IV, Emperor of Hulstria's Government, do here by request the Imperial Diet of Hulstria approve a measure to hold early elections. This move comes as a result of the actions taken by the recently elected Governor-General, Friedrich Reding, whose failure to respect centuries of established Hulstrian political traditions is an affront to the People, the Monarchy, and the Hulstrian National Identity. This action comes with the support and binding legal authority of His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor, who has been compelled to act in the best interests of the Nation by and following a vote of no confidence from his cabinet with 10 of the 12 sitting Ministers (myself excluded) expressing a lack of faith in the Governor-General. I therefore request this special election at the request of the majority of the Diet, majority of the Cabinet, and after noting the Emperor's concern for the "maintenance and stability of Hulstrian traditions." Signed, Bartholomäus von Strauss Staatsminister of Hulstria |

Message | May I point out that we are the largest party? So any undermining of the LDP's policies is an undermining of democracy and 20% of the Hulstrians! |

Message | yes, the LDP is a majority, but it also betried both the citizens that voted for it, and the parties that supported it in the last election. In no campigen did the LDP speak out about this burst out of trediational Hulstrian values, until they saw a cabinet propsel which was not to their liking. It's true that the LDP is part of the goverment and legistrative of Hulstria, but the people need to know who they voted for, if the LDP retains it's lead as the largest party, then we know the people knew what they voted for, for now, we are all uncertian of the LDP's both rationality and trustworthy, and for that reason we have decided that an early election are in order. |

Message | We approve of the call for early elections though we regret the vote of no confidence is needed. Traditions can be broken, but never lightly and never for political gain. At the moment, our party is committed to the status quo. |

Message | The Hulstrians did know were they votedfor, as we advocated democratic changes and reforms right from the start. A vote of no confidence to the Governor General is a political dissaproval, a disapproval of one party's (LDP) politics, and not a disaproval of the abilities of the Governor General. So this is not an objective view. |

Message | To use the LDP's argument "20% of the Hulstrians" means that 80% voted against you. The LDP has pursued radical policies far outside of the mainstream. Governor-General Reding has brought the office into disrepute. Furthermore, it is clear that the Governor-General and LDP have lost the confidence of the Diet. The Diet is fully within its rights as the democratically elected legislature of the Imperial Crownlands to do what it deems necessary to restore legitimacy to government. The very nature of a motion of no confidence and special elections motion is democratic, legitimate, and proper. The LDP has shown its true nature - It has no respect for Hulstrian traditions. No respect for true political discourse. No respect for pluralism. No respect for parliamentary democracy. Accordingly, this Diet and His Majesty's Government has no confidence in the LDP. |
