Increasingly we are seeing huge corporations buying up smaller farms and merging them together to create megafarms using intensive farming methods. This not only leads to the production of bland and unappealing food which floods our supermarkets and drives smaller farmers towards bankruptcy but it is also bad for our environment as such agricultural monocultures which these intensive methods need are damaging the ecological balance. |
