Bill: More Jobs
Details
Submitted by[?]: Social Democratic Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2134
Description[?]:
Because I highly doubt that a man should work at McDonalds and be expected to support 10 children at once. Then your just going to have a bunch of people working low-class jobs so they don't need to aspire at all. And the companies cannot possibly afford more workers to work for them if they are paying so much to so little. Lower the minimum wage a little bit to this sensible amount. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The nation's policy on minimum wage regulation.
Old value:: There shall be a minimum wage at a level considered a "living wage," well above the poverty line for a full time worker.
Current: There shall be a minimum wage at a level that a single full time worker on it can adequately subsist.
Proposed: There shall be a minimum wage at a level that a full time worker on it can support a family of four without falling under the poverty line.

Message | This will hurt the worse off the most! It will cause more poverty and more crime, this minimumwage tackles child poverty and poverty in general, it allows all families to have a decent wage on which they can live off and not forced to live in shit holes, like you want. |

Message | No, for the reason that this makes only provision for 'full time' workers, ignoring the needs of those workers who cannot find such work. In addition, with all the bills you are proposing and supporting, you will be removing the provision for full time work for many of our workers. In other words, this bill stinks. |
Date | 08:38:34, October 31, 2005 CET | From | Chinkopodian Economic Democrats | To | Debating the More Jobs |
Message | The current one is for a full-time worker as well, CoL. DLP, "without falling below the poverty line" means "without falling below the poverty line". The people will, urrm, not be in poverty (unless they somehow have 10 children, in which case they get child benefit). |
