MessageThis doesn't prevent from turning into a theocracy. If anything, it only hinders the right to religious freedom and expression. No one says you have to participate in prayer.

Against.

MessageOne is allowed to pray during school, but unless it is a religous school, then we should not have teacher led prayers. And in fact, while allowing teachers to lead prayers in each school, the enforcement of actually participating might happen, whether you like it or not.

What this does do is influence children in a negative way. If you want prayer; go to a prayer school, or go to church. That is why I have proposed this bill.

MessageI think that your bill is shortsighted, because there are certain areas where religion is such a big part of the life of the whole community, that they don't even think about a religious school. In those places, it should be alright for the state teacher to administer the prayers, because that is local democracy at work. Are you anti-democratic?

MessageYou could say that I am anti-democratic. I favor republics over democracies; because republics have safeguards.

While the majjority might think and believe one way; we have to protect the minority. If it is that much a part of their lives; then the children can go and pray on their own during lunch hours, but the teacher doesn't need to lead prayers; if they want teachers to lead prayers then they might as well make a religious school.

MessageWe will support this bill as it will lead us to further secularization: separation of church and state. Unless it is a religious school, ALL schools should not have any type of prayer in order to protect minorities. Besides, this bill still allows religious schools to do it so we don't think it is at all very restrictive.

MessageAgain, it hurts the right to religious freedom and expression. No one says the students have to participate in the prayer. The Roman Imperialist Party refuses to support this bill.

MessageIt's freedom of, not freedom from. Leave it be.

MessageStudents can pray in schools if they so wish, but teachers should NOT be leading it! This will make some students feel out of place and isolated.

MessageAgreed ! This is worthwhile as doesnt force prayers on children who may have a religious teacher at a public school.
