Bill: Cabinet Proposal of November 2880

Details

Submitted by[?]: Rutanian Elitist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2881

Description[?]:

Prime Minister Puwak decided to attempt the formation of an all party coalition. He hopes that the proposal will suffice the expectations of every party.
He applied a pseudo-proportional counting mechanism, which favours the smallest parties.
Thus:
REP - 4 ministries (including the PM)
LDSP - 3
PPE - 2
DPR - 2
LDP - 2

MessageWhile we think it is a shame to see the cabinet revert back to its old form we can accept this.

MessageA cabinet with 5 parties seems to be a useless way to keep as many friends as possible, fill as many pockets as possible, and gag the opposition . Furthermore, we ask ourselves what the use was of mobilizing 325 million inhabitants for a totally redundant election.

The PUUO will therefore critically assess every decision of this so-called "government", and feels confident that the cabinet will be severely punished by the intelligent, proud and superior population of the Commonwealth of Rutania during the next elections.

MessageTo the DPR: Please, do not blame use, blame the population for voting in such a manner.

To the PUUO: Well, we would have included your party as well, but unfortunately you are not represented in the Parliament. And we do not believe that labelling people stupid will bring you votes.

MessageI was referring to the opinion that I (and only I) have that in the whole cabinet system is generally flawed. I feel that the best option is that the Head of State does not have any positions within the cabinet due to the fact that he has the highest position in government. All ministerial duties should be taken by other parties, since (in a perfect world) the Head of State should have the power to veto or overrule. That is my vision, my dream. :):)

MessageWell, we believe that Rutanians had given there votes for the REP because they feel we have a good governmental project. They didn't vote for us because they wanted us being in opposition.

MessageDear REP,

If you read our opinion thoroughly (which you obviously haven't done), you would see that I want a cabinet with less parties, not more.

Furthermore, I would like you to show me where we called anyone stupid?!?

Yours sincerely.
