Bill: Trade Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Paleofederalist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2883
Description[?]:
We do not feel that retaliation is an appropriate trade policy. We also support efforts to promote free trade. However, we see that tariffs are a moral way of raising revenue (as opposed to income tax) and can be strategically used to reduce harm to the economy. We propose trade taxes on finished, basic, luxury goods (like tobacco, clothes, etc) with no taxes on raw materials. |
