Message | Rt Hon David Craddock MP, Trade and Industry Secretary: Mr Speaker, at the moment industry is being choked by these highly restrictive industrial pollution standards, choked far more than any risk of pollution. Mr Speaker, we recognise that some standards must be expected, but the red tape needs to be taken away. The financial burden on industries is enormous in ensuring they meet standards, and ultimately, Mr Speaker, this effects the number of jobs that are available. I would rather free industry of these burdens so that they can instead create more new jobs. |
