MessageRt Hon Duchess Thompson MP:

Mr Speaker, funding of sports clubs is a gross waste of public money. They are used by relatively few people but cost a great deal. Mr Speaker, returning sports clubs to private hands would prove enormously beneficial to both the public purse and to the sports clubs themselves.

MessageMr Speaker, sports clubs are not compulsory. Not every council has one— but we should leave the option open to councils that wish to fund them.

MessageMr Speaker the funding of sports clubs is not a gross waste of public money but our community initiatives partnership with the local police has helped drastically reduce levels of crime in many years. If anything we should be creating more opportunities for young people. .

MessageI would also like to point out the recent success of the Langdon Pioneers. They only recently lost to the Acton Giants in the final of the ten-year anniversary tournament of the All-Kingdom Tchoukball League.A young team comprised of youths from poorbackrounds, originally funded by the government. A group of young boys who otherwise would never have been given a chance to perform and succeed in the sport that they love.

MessageI strongly suggest that the CLP politicians actually visit many of these institutions. See the progress first hand and remove their beautifully tailored ivy league suits and slum it out.

MessageRt Hon Duchess Thompson MP:

Mr Speaker, I am a member of both a sports club in Bekenial, and a sports club in my constituency. On is publicly funded, the other private. The private club that I am a member of, Mr Speaker, is actually less expensive than the public one, and the conditions are on a different level. Thus, Mr Speaker, I speak from experience.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.
