Message | id like to give an example... A mass terrorist attack rocks the capitol leaving innnocents dead ( like the attacks witnessed in Madrid ,London an New York etc) and another attack is almost certain, is it not right that all steps are taken to prevent another such attack? even at the expense of human rights breaches? The MAOD believe this is a justified situation when torture should be permitted. |

Message | No; torture causes lasting effects that make it an inappropriate punishment and is furthermore contrary to our principles as a civilized nation. |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
Random quote: "A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." - Thomas Jefferson |
