Message | The CLP who want to remove tariffs and quotas are supporting the huge corporations and leaving behind the small businesses of the people. We should protect the small businesses of the people. If there have to be imported goods the least that can be done is for the government to impose charges upon them to raise money |

Message | Madam Speaker, we support not the huge corporations, but the consumers. The imposition of tariffs and quotas simply make goods more expensive and quality lower. This is not, Madam Speaker, what the man on the street wants. He wants competition that will drive up standards, he wants a free economy that will reduce prices, and he wants a good choice of produce. Madam Speaker, that is what this bill will achieve. |
Date | 18:17:47, February 17, 2010 CET | From | Union of Radical Republicans (UM) | To | Debating the Free Trade Act |
Message | Mme. Speaker, while we sympathize with the CLP's goals in this legislation, the current situation, with the obstructionist stances of the Satanic Empire (should we ever expect different?) and the Telamonese government, dictates we support the status quo. |
