Message | Civilian national service isn't necessarily military related. And anyway, there are other non-essential laws that are currently in place in this nation. |

Message | This system is basically indentured servitude, wherein the citizen is born with a debt to the state, that must be paid off at reaching maturity. And how does forcing one to serve the state build respect or support to the state? Conscription could weaken the military by filling it with unwilling, unprofessional soldiers who may flee or defect given the chance. Mandatory National Service is merely the state trying to make up for its own inabilities to provide for the people through forced labor that pays a paltry sum so as to prevent it from being called slavery. Military and civilian service should be a thing of pride undertaken by citizens to better their nation and aid their people, not a necessary evil for the majority. |

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there. |
