Bill: Call for early elections, August 2898
Details
Submitted by[?]: Hutorian Conservative Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.
Voting deadline: April 2899
Description[?]:
We, the Hutori National Party, call for early elections as we feel it would be in the best interests of the parties that currently hold seats to quickly defeat the two newly formed parties in Hutori. Elections before the two new parties gain a support base would ensure they are no threat to the major parties until the next official election! |
Proposals
Article 1

Date | 21:59:11, February 23, 2010 CET | From | Hutorian Conservative Party | To | Debating the Call for early elections, August 2898 |
Message | Madam Speaker, these early elections will also act as a referendum to the ongoing struggle between the Monarchist and Anti-Monarchist parties. |
Date | 22:30:21, February 23, 2010 CET | From | House Lusk-Nat'l Syndicalist Party (UM) | To | Debating the Call for early elections, August 2898 |
Message | Madam Speaker, given the huge volume of legislation currently before the house, we believe that an early election at this point would be foolish. |
Date | 22:38:13, February 23, 2010 CET | From | Hutorian Conservative Party | To | Debating the Call for early elections, August 2898 |
Message | Madam Speaker, all bills are simply put back to the debate stage and all legislation currently before the house will be put to the vote again. Whether the NSP have any seats to cast a vote is another question! |
Date | 00:42:58, February 24, 2010 CET | From | Union of Radical Republicans (UM) | To | Debating the Call for early elections, August 2898 |
Message | Yes, Madame Speaker, but put to a vote to be ultimately enacted ten months after the election. Frankly, the current schedule is sufficient. |
Date | 10:20:20, February 24, 2010 CET | From | Conservative-Libertarian Party (UM) | To | Debating the Call for early elections, August 2898 |
Message | Madam Speaker, there is no need for a "referendum". All parties, with the exception of the HNP, were elected with the public in full knowledge as to their stance on the monarchy. That is how parliamentary democracy works. |

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election. |
Random quote: "We are told that this is an odious and unpopular tax. I never knew a tax that was not odious and unpopular with the people who paid it." - John Sherman |
