"We cannot allow advertisers to deliberately lie to consumers in order to sell a item. This is unethical, and as a government we have the responsibility to protect our citizens from fraud and false advertising. Therefore, we propose setting a standard that all advertising must follow. For example, this includes but is not limited to: 1. A ban on hidden fees and surcharges. 2. Rebates must be clearly marked and mentioned. 3. Regulation of Cost-plus Pricing. 4. A ban on Bait-and-Switch. 5. Regulation of disclaimers and "fine print" lettering." |
