Voting deadline: February 2905
Description[?]:
"No longer will the workers, those glorious beings, that salt of Terra, be forced to work endless hours for the uncaring executive. No longer will they slave in the furnace, toil on the field, sacrifice precious life for a meager wage! No longer will the worker BLEED his precious life blood for long work and low pay! No, citizens, this injustice SHALL NOT STAND! Some call me a Socialist! I laugh in the face of Socialism! Socialism has failed, citizens, and out of those ashes rise the Medrisite phoenix, the "Third Way", the Corporativist way! Are we evil for caring for our workers, they who generate the vast fortune that we profit from? Do we dare spit in their face? My friends, I ask for a simple thing. I ask that a worker be paid a fair wage for fair work, that a man is given what he is owed, so long that he is paid for what is due. I ask that we treat him as we would treat ourselves, for are we not of the same flesh and blood, the Pontesi man? I ask for a working hour, one that allows a man to live and not just survive! I ask for a minimum wage, so that a man is guaranteed his worth under the loving watch of his brothers! I ask for regulation, so that those who dare defy us be crushed under the heel of our united vengeance! Men of the Pontesi, join me, and cast off the oppression that for too long has binded us! We will prevail! WE WILL PREVAIL!" - Segment of the "Blood of Workers" speech, First Revisionist Council, June of 2904. Medris Mederagaar speaking. |
