Message | Madam Speaker, the merit or not of having DWCs must for one moment be put aside. In some businesses they are rather successful, whereas in others they have been disastrous. Madam Speaker, that issue is not what is most important here. What is of the utmost importance, Madam Speaker, is whether we as a government should have a position on the matter, which will directly affect the burden on the taxpayer. Madam Speaker, businesses must decide how they are best run and should employees require a DWC, then they must negotiate with their employers and their union. However, it should not be the role of the government, nor the taxpayer, to prioritise certain methods. |

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections. |
