Voting deadline: July 2045

Description[?]:

A leak at a factory in Mothar has caused thousands of litres of poisonous chemicals to be released into an important river. Environmentalists predict that the aquatic life in the river will be wiped out and it will take years to recover. The company responsible, UUK Inc., is a major member in the medicine sector of Mothar and there are worries that a similar incident could happen in their other plants that exist throughout Dorvik. The company has refused to comment on the issue. The government should swiftly act to stop the chemicals damaging the environemnt, furthermore the company should be immediatley investigated and closed until further notice. All other plants of the same company should suffer the same procedure and be checked for safety violations.

MessageThis was a freak one-off accident. The company wasnt in breach of the Business Protection Act and thus acted lawfully. Although this is a tragedy, we cant point fingers it was a simple accident.

MessageThe company acted within the law. Looking at the current legislation, companies have no legal motivation to carry out environmental procedures.

Furthermore, you cant demand one of the biggest companies in Dorvik closes when you dont know if they have done anything wrong.
