Message | Madam Speaker, given that 97% of households have internet access, at a very reasonable price indeed, can the HNP explain why they are promoting nationalisation of the service? Madam Speaker, the internet is one of the greatest bastions of freedom of speech and thought in the world, and government should not get involved in it at all. |

Message | Madam Speaker, there is no question of restricting freedom of speech here at all. Clearly the CLP are talking nonsence. The point is Madam Speaker, that a state run ISP would be non-profit and thus would make internet prices even cheaper. |
Date | 10:45:27, March 12, 2010 CET | From | Conservative-Libertarian Party (UM) | To | Debating the Internet Service Act |
Message | Mr Speaker, any slight savings that can be made in the cost will only be funded out of increased taxation. In such an event, the cost to the taxpayer will not change at all. Mr Speaker, it is widely known that internet provision is very cheap indeed these days due to enhanced technology and competition. |

Random quote: "Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time." - Winston Churchill |
