Message | Mr Speaker, the Hutorian national flag is the very symbol of tolerance and freedom. It is therefore wrong that there should be a situation where the state has effectively criminalised protest involving the flag. Desecration of the flag, as unsavoury as it may be, should not be a criminal act. |

Message | Samuel Haskins MP, HNP Deputy Leader : Mr Speaker, another attack on patriotism by the CLP. This Act is quite frankly sickening and it shows that the CLP do not care about this nation or what the flag represents. Obviously we will oppose this dreadful act and we call on the other parties to vote with us. |

Message | Mr Speaker, the HNP must learn that patriotism and fascism are not the same at all. Patriotism in Hutori is firmly bound with notions of freedom. The flag, representing all that is great about Hutori, must not therefore be seen as the enemy of freedom. Mr Speaker, it would be an attack on patriotism were we proposing to desecrate the flag ourselves. Obviously, we would never do such a thing. But that, Mr Speaker, does not mean it should be a criminal offence were others to choose to protest in such a way. |

Message | Samuel Haskins MP, HNP Deputy Leader : Mr Speaker, ... the CLP appear to be unaware that they are destroying everything that represents the nation. First it was the army and now it is the nations flag. It shows what the CLP think of Hutori and in my opinion they do not deserve to be a part of it, much less run it. |
