Details
Submitted by[?]: Genuine Progress Alliance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2909
Description[?]:
This act aims to make sure that workers can still have the right to go on strike. However, the right to strike will be limited for workers considered critical to society, such as government workers, rescue workers, law enforcement workers, and workers of the health and education sector. Such workers will have to ensure at least a minimum amount of service in order not to disrupt the flow of society. REAL-LIFE CASE SCENARIO: In the case of the 1969 Montreal Police Strike, police officers went on strike due to their demands for better working conditions and compensations. This resulted in the escalation of the Murray-Hill riot due to the lack of policemen on duty. |

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
